Instructions:

  1. Start with a small plate, mixing the sugar and shredded coconut together. Then, moisten the rim of a glass and dip it in the mixture to coat the edge.
  2. Using the cocktail shaker, add the pineapple juice, coconut cream, simple syrup, and fresh lemon juice.
  3. Add ice to the shaker, cover, and shake well for about 10-15 seconds until the mixture is chilled. Be careful not to seal the shaker too tightly, as it might get stuck!
  4. Strain the mixture and pour it into the prepared glass with the decorated rim.
  5. Add the non-alcoholic blue curaçao and use the bar spoon to gently stir, creating a uniform color. You can garnish with a pineapple slice and a cherry. Enjoy!

Preparation Tips:

  • Fresh pineapple juice is ideal for a natural, vibrant flavor, though canned or bottled juice also works well.
  • To know if the mixture is ready, look for a thin frost layer forming on the outside of the shaker.
  • If you'd like a sweeter drink, add a little more simple syrup, adjusting to your taste.
  • For an eye-catching color, mix the non-alcoholic blue curaçao just before serving.

Tasting Notes:

  • The Jack Frost Mocktail provides a tropical blend with the sweet flavors of pineapple and coconut.
  • The non-alcoholic blue curaçao adds a light citrus note that complements the creamy coconut and enhances the visual appeal.
  • This drink is smooth yet refreshing, perfect for those who enjoy tropical flavors without the alcohol.

Recipe Pairings:

  • This mocktail pairs well with light appetizers like tropical fruit skewers or a mild cheese platter.
  • It also complements fresh seafood dishes like shrimp or ceviche for a perfect tropical match.
  • Ideal alongside summery salads with mango, avocado, and a hint of lime.
  • For a sweeter touch, serve it with coconut or pineapple desserts to further highlight its tropical profile.

*Alternative for the Jigger

If you don't have a jigger, you can use:

Measuring spoons:

  • 1 oz = 2 tablespoons (30 ml)

  • 1/2 oz = 1 tablespoon (15 ml)

Kitchen measuring cups:

Many kitchen measuring cups have markings for ounces and milliliters, allowing you to accurately measure the necessary ingredients without any problem.

*Alternative for the Shaker

If you don't have a shaker, try one of these alternatives:

Jar with a lid (like a Mason jar):

Fill it with the ingredients and ice, seal the lid tightly, and shake it like a shaker. It works great for mixing and chilling ingredients.

Coffee thermos:

A coffee thermos (well cleaned, to avoid mixing smells or flavors) can function as a shaker when closed and shaken. It’s a solid option.

Tall glass and spoon:

If your mocktail or cocktail doesn’t need a strong shake, simply mix the ingredients directly in the glass with a long spoon (or bar spoon, if you have one) and add ice at the end.
