Sea Lifestyle & Inspiration...

I believe we all have a fantasy or imaginary beach that we'd like to be on or visit, conjured up in our imagination but somehow turned into reality. I don't know, maybe for some people it might be something as simple as a beach that's not too hot, or one without persistent vendors, or perhaps something far more fantastic, like a beach with crystal mermaids and friendly sharks that we could talk to, or maybe a beach strewn with precious pearls alongside the natural shells washed up by the sea. We all have imagination, and this article is precisely to invite you to let your imagination fly and answer this question. If reality were not an obstacle... what would your dream beach be like?
Let me write about mine, the one I deeply desire... a tranquil beach, under a sky where I can see not just the stars, but also the galaxies and watch comets and shooting stars pass by, and above all, a place where I could meet with my loved ones who have passed away. If anyone saw the movie "Contact" from 1997, with Jodie Foster, you might know what I'm referring to, but in my case, I don't need the palm trees of Pensacola, Florida, I am more than happy with the dramatic contrast of the desert and the sea that the reality of my beautiful La Paz provides. Also, on my fantasy beach, it would just be my family and me, but with just a thought, we would have all the food and drink we desire, and there, time would not exist; we would simply be happy.
In more detail, I must confess that the idea of talking with sharks wouldn't be bad at all, surely they would have great tales and adventures to share, or what about the whales? I am certain they must have the grandest stories for us. And speaking of long-lived creatures, how about talking with turtles? Can you imagine the kind of world stories they would have? The idea of communicating with these marine beings, although seemingly impossible, fills me with intrigue because... what would they tell us?
As this is an exercise in imagination, I would also love to meet the mermaids and mermen often mentioned in literature and hear about their life down below. I'd like to talk with the whale sharks that come to La Paz and chat about their nobility and journeys. I don't know, there are so many things I would love on my fantasy beach that it boggles my mind. Interestingly, at my age, I don't dream of a beach filled with gold and riches (though they wouldn't be unwelcome), but rather a place where I can be with those I love who are still here, as well as those I love who are no longer with us, a place where time stands still and I can be at peace with them. Of course, a spectacular place, with unique colors and bright stars, with the sea so calm it looks like a mirror and surrounded by the unique landscapes of La Paz, and with the ability to talk with marine beings and stars alike... can you imagine what a star would tell us?
As you can see, I always seek peace, tranquility, and the beauty of landscapes. I'm sure that's why I live in La Paz, because while here I can't talk with whale sharks or turtles, I do have waters so calm they resemble a mirror (I'm not lying, when there's no wind in La Paz, this is real), and the tranquility and serenity not just on the beaches but in the city itself and from the landscapes, well, at this point on the planet, they are truly spectacular, with contrasts that will take your breath away. This city has dreamlike beaches, but the one that comes closest to my fantasy beach is Balandra, with its waters, hills, colors, landscapes, and starry skies, it brings me very close to my imaginary desires that I've already mentioned.
Another beach that closely resembles the one in my dreams is Tecolote, with its sea that sometimes seems like a gigantic pool, its long coastline filled with beautiful shells and stones to collect and admire. Believe me when I tell you it's the best beach for camping in La Paz, where you'll see starry skies so spectacular it seems you could reach the stars just by raising your hand. This same sky is shared with Balandra, in fact, they are about a 5-minute drive apart, far enough from the city to experience true starry skies that reflect on a sea like a mirror, when the wind allows it. Spectacular, dreamlike, practically pulled from a fantasy, that's how these beaches in La Paz are, only missing a few more things and it would be my fantasy beach turned into reality. And although it doesn't have the spectacular landscapes of these two beaches, I must mention my favorite beach in La Paz, Caimancito, which is small, cozy, and somewhat hidden. I write this and realize how fortunate I am to live in a place that offers these options to fill our eyes and hearts with joy. Incredible.
To create your dream beach, all you need to do is relax, close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Then, think about what's valuable to you, what you love or care about the most, the landscapes that impress or have impressed you, and especially what you would like to do, not just see, but do—like talking to turtles, touching the stars, or having long conversations with those who have passed away. Creating your dream beach isn't difficult; all you have to do is search your heart for everything that means the most to you.
Well, I suppose everyone has their ideal beach, or everyone fills their ideal beach with what they like or need the most, and while I wouldn't mind a beach filled with treasures and pearls, with beautiful mermaids emerging from the sea and trading their tails for legs, LOL, my fantasy beach focuses more on being with those I care about in a calm and serene place, surrounded by spectacular natural beauty, without time being an issue. Again, I say this is why I live in La Paz, because it has places that are very much like this dream beach of mine. But tell me, what would your fantasy beach be like? What would it have?
